Justin Baldoni's team has reacted to their partial legal victory in his ongoing lawsuit against Blake Lively.

"We’re very pleased the Court dismissed all sexual harassment claims and every claim brought against the individual defendants: Justin Baldoni, Jamey Heath, Steve Sarowitz, Melissa Nathan, and Jennifer Abel," attorneys for the Wayfarer defendants said in a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday, April 2. "These were very serious allegations, and we are grateful to the Court for its careful review of the facts, law and voluminous evidence that was provided."

The statement continued "What’s left is a significantly narrowed case, and we look forward to presenting our defense to the remaining claims in court."

News broke on Thursday that Judge Lewis Liman ruled to dismiss 10 of Lively’s 13 claims against Baldoni, 42. According to court documents obtained by Us, the judge threw out Lively’s allegations of harassment, defamation and conspiracy.

Three claims remain ongoing in the case, including breach of contract, retaliation and aiding and abetting in retaliation. The remaining claims can proceed to trial.

Lively, 38, and Baldoni’s next hearing is scheduled to take place on Thursday, at 5 p.m. ET. via Zoom.

The pair’s legal drama began when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment while they worked together during their 2024 movie It Ends With Us, in which they starred as love interests.

Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni, who also served as director on the movie, in December 2024 with the California Civil Rights Department. In the complaint, Lively claimed that she experienced a “hostile work environment” and accused Baldoni of launching a smear campaign against her. The actress later filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in New York for alleged sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign against her.

Baldoni, who has vehemently denied the allegations, countersued Lively for $400 million. His lawsuit was thrown out by the judge in June 2025. Lively celebrated the legal win with a passionate statement shared via social media.

“Last week, I stood proudly alongside 19 organizations united in defending women’s rights to speak up for their safety,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “Like so many others, I’ve felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit, including the manufactured shame that tries to break us.”

Lively continued, “While the suit against me was defeated, so many don’t have the resources to fight back. I’m more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman’s right to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their dignity and their story.”

Blake Lively Reportedly Fights Against Justin Baldoni’s Request to Dismiss ‘It Ends With Us’ Trial

Earlier this year, Lively and Baldoni attended a settlement conference for their case. In February Freedman claimed the mediation was “unsuccessful,” telling Deadline that “there’s always a chance” of reaching a settlement and he’s “looking forward” to going to trial in May.

One month later, Lively’s legal team filed a letter arguing that the case should proceed with evidence that has already been gathered. Baldoni’s team subsequently asked for a pretrial postponement and accused Lively’s lawyers of flooding the court with a “document dump.”

The judge granted Baldoni’s team a one-week delay during the pretrial process. The trial is scheduled to begin on May 18.
