Rosie O'Donnell is giving her followers a peek at the special moment when she met her newborn grandson for the first time.

On Sunday, April 5, the comedian, 64, shared a photo on Instagram showing herself holding her son Blake’s baby boy, named Anthony Joel.

"Best day ever," she captioned the photo, which showed the actress holding the baby in her arms as she sat on a couch wearing a face mask. "Met my grandson Anthony. Truly a beautiful child."

"I'm so proud of the happy parents Teresa and Blake," she added, referring to Blake, 26, and his wife, Teresa.

In a separate post, O'Donnell shared another shot of herself, Blake, daughter Vivienne, 23, and her youngest child, Clay, 13, sitting side by side on the couch as they took turns holding the newborn.

"Thrilled to have Vivi and Clay with me as we all meet the new baby," she captioned the post.

O'Donnell first announced the birth of her fifth grandson on March 28, writing on Instagram: "Anthony Joel O’Donnell has arrived! And my heart burst open."

“Congratulations to mama Teresa n Blake Christopher — I love u so ❤️❤️❤️,” she added in the caption, alongside a black-and-white photo of her new grandson’s foot in the hospital.

Her son and his wife announced that they were expecting their first baby in an Instagram post, one year after they tied the knot. In the Sept. 22 post, Blake and Teresa shared a photo of a onesie with "Baby O'Donnell March 2026" written on it as it hung on a clothesline next to a sonogram photo in a field of sunflowers.

“Our lives are about to get a whole lot sunnier💛🌻," the couple captioned the post. "Baby OD arriving March 2026💛🍼."

O'Donnell responded in the comment section, "I’m just over the moon ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.” Blake’s mom, Kelli Carpenter (O'Donnell’s ex-wife), added, "This fills my heart! I love the both of you so and your baby will be so loved! (And spoiled!) ❤️.”

O'Donnell has five children, four of whom she shares with Carpenter: sons Parker, 30, and Blake, as well as daughters Chelsea, 28, and Vivienne. She shares Clay with her late ex-wife, Michelle Rounds.

The League of Their Own star welcomed her fourth grandchild in 2023, when her daughter Chelsea gave birth to her first son, Atlas. Chelsea is also a mom to daughters Skylar Rose, 7, Riley, 5, and Avery Lynn, 4.

The former View host made headlines last year when she confirmed in a TikTok that she had moved to Ireland on Jan. 15 with Clay. In a follow-up video, she cited her "feud" with President Donald Trump and the changes made by the current administration as a big reason why she left.

In February 2026, O'Donnell spoke with Chris Cuomo on his radio show, SiriusXM’s Cuomo Mornings, and revealed she had traveled back to the U.S. to visit her family and shared that she was "very excited" ahead of her grandson's birth.

“I wanted to hold my children again,” she told Cuomo, 55. “And I hadn’t been home in over a year. I also wanted to make sure that it was safe for me before I brought my daughter this summer, where we plan to spend the summertime off from her schooling here with my family.”
