Rosie Perez is remembering the time a costar took their kissing scene too far.
The Highest 2 Lowest actress, 61, revealed on Monday’s episode of Today With Jenna & Friends that she once had to stop a scene because an unnamed costar decided to use his tongue during their liplock.
“I tell my costars no tongue and then this one costar — won’t say his name — he slipped in tongue and I remember we were like [gargling noises],” Perez said as she stuck her tongue out. “Like, that’s gross to me!”

When host Jenna Bush Hager asked if she had to stop the scene because of how gross it was, Perez replied, “Yes, I did! Yes, no tongue unless I’m married to you, I’m sorry!”
The memory came up as part of a conversation about George Clooney’s recent announcement that he won’t kiss any more women in his future films — a move that Perez agreed with wholeheartedly.
“I’m so with that,” she said. “I told my manager, I was like, ‘No more sex scenes.’ When the bra comes off, these things go down south, you know? Do the Right Thing was a long time ago. I tell people, 'Get over it,' you know what I’m saying?”
The actress also noted that she doesn’t like to use tongue during kiss scenes because “I think it’s gross.”

Bush acknowledged in their conversation that, as people get older, they may find themselves setting up boundaries around things they didn’t previously care about in their youth, such as the level of involvement in a kiss scene.
“No, I always cared about it,” Perez replied. “Well, that’s not true — except for Woody Harrelson.”
Perez then gave Hager a sultry look when referencing her former costar, causing the pair to burst into laughter. “Hi, Laura [Louie] — that’s his wife,” Perez added, waving at the camera. “I love Laura. She knows, she knows!”

Harrelson and Perez famously starred opposite one another in writer and director Ron Shelton’s 1992 sports comedy, White Men Can’t Jump.
“Was he a particularly excellent kisser?” Bush asked, to which Perez replied, “Yes. And I said, 'No tongue,' and then he went [for it] and I went, ‘No! Uh, okay.’ So it was kinda like that.”
However, she noted that Harrelson wouldn’t get a pass these days if he tried to pull that trick again in a future film. “Now? No, I’m over it,” Perez said. “I’m over it.”
