Alan Ritchson has built good momentum in Hollywood, and one of his overlooked action movies deserves another look before it disappears from streaming. Fans still have a limited window to catch his World War II adventure, which leaves Peacock very soon, making now the perfect time for fans who missed it in theaters.

Alan Ritchson fans who haven’t checked out one of his most underrated war movies still have a small window to do it. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is scheduled to leave Peacock on August 18 (via Collider).
Released in theaters on April 19, 2024, through Lionsgate, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare sees Guy Ritchie swap polished spies for a crew of rule-breakers who fight dirty to get the job done.
Drawing inspiration from Damien Lewis’ book and the true story of Operation Postmaster, the film follows a handpicked British team carrying out daring behind-the-lines missions against Nazi forces during World War II.

Behind the scenes, the project brought together heavyweight producers Jerry Bruckheimer, Guy Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, Chad Oman, and John Friedberg. Henry Cavill steps into the boots of fearless operative Gus March-Phillipps, with Alan Ritchson starring as Anders Lassen. They’re joined by a star-studded lineup that includes Eiza González, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Henry Golding, Babs Olusanmokun, and Cary Elwes.
Staying true to Guy Ritchie’s signature style, the film fuses slick spy elements, sharp humor, and high-octane action. While it’s inspired by real wartime missions, the focus is squarely on delivering a thrilling cinematic adventure.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare currently sports a 6.8/10 rating on IMDb, along with a 68% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences, however, gave it a much warmer reception, pushing its Popcornmeter to an impressive 91%. Moviegoers especially loved the team’s chemistry, Guy Ritchie’s stylish direction, and Alan Ritchson’s scene-stealing performance and humor.
However, the box office told a different story. Despite carrying an estimated $60 million budget, the movie brought in only about $29.8 million worldwide, falling well short of expectations. Even so, online chatter has kept the film alive, with fans regularly praising its punchy action, sharp banter, and the fun, all-star ensemble that makes it an easy watch.
